Role: Atelier Intern | Focus: Sample Development & Technical Preparation
During my internship at Proenza Schouler, I supported the atelier team in the development and production of garments for the Fall 2020 runway collection. Working within a fast-paced studio environment, I contributed to multiple stages of the design-to-sample process — from pattern organization and fabric finishing to runway preparation. I developed an understanding of craftsmanship, precision, and collaboration across design and technical production disciplines within a high-end fashion house.
Samples assisted in preparation.
I contributed to the atelier’s production workflow by assisting sample makers in the preparation and organization of garment components. My responsibilities included printing, cutting, and managing pattern files, and providing production support across textiles and trims.
I supported the final preparation stage for the runway presentation by assisting in garment finishing, coordinating with local manufacturers on last-minute details, and ensuring that all pieces met visual presentation standards. Working under pressure, I anticipated needs and responded quickly to changing circumstances while maintaining strong organization and collaboration across teams.
